BUILT TO BUILD

I Was Built to Build.

There are moments when God reveals something to you that you can't unsee.

That happened to me recently.

I found myself feeling discouraged because I realized that what I currently have is not enough.

And before I even say that, let me make something clear: I am grateful.

I am grateful for what God has already given me. I am grateful for my children, my home, my businesses, my job, my creativity, my health, and every blessing I have been given.

This isn't about being ungrateful.

It's about recognizing that I have been given a vision for something greater.

I don't just want to survive.

I want to build.

I want to create something that changes the trajectory of my family's life. I want to build businesses that generate wealth. I want to give my children opportunities that I didn't always have. I want to leave something behind for them.

Proverbs 13:22 says: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.”

That scripture hit differently for me.

I started thinking about generational wealth and everything I want to accomplish and honestly, I became overwhelmed.

I cried.

I questioned whether I was doing enough. I questioned whether I was moving fast enough. I looked at where I am versus where I know God is taking me and for a moment, the distance between the two felt overwhelming.

But then I prayed.

I opened my Bible.

And God brought me back to Nehemiah.

In Nehemiah 4, Nehemiah and the people were rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. But they weren't building without opposition.

They were being threatened.

They were being mocked.

They were being challenged.

And yet...

They kept building.

They didn't stop because there was opposition.

They adjusted.

They prepared themselves.

They stayed alert.

And they continued the work.

They were literally building with one hand while being prepared to fight with the other.

And that's when something clicked for me.

Maybe the opposition isn't proof that I'm doing something wrong.

Maybe it's proof that I'm building something worth protecting.

Maybe I don't need to stop because I'm tired.

Maybe I don't need to stop because it's taking longer than I expected.

Maybe I don't need to stop because I can't see the entire finished product yet.

Maybe I just need to keep building.

That's when I realized:

I was built to build.

I was built to build a business.

I was built to build a legacy.

I was built to build generational wealth.

I was built to build a stronger relationship with God.

I was built to build a better life for my children.

I was built to build something that outlives me.

And just like Nehemiah, I may have to build while fighting.

I may have to build while tired.

I may have to build while people don't understand the vision.

I may have to build when the numbers don't look the way I want them to yet.

I may have to build when I'm afraid.

But I cannot stop building simply because the building is hard.

Nehemiah didn't stop.

And neither am I.

So this season isn't about asking God to make the vision smaller so that it feels more comfortable.

It's about asking God to strengthen me enough to carry what He has placed in my heart.

Because I don't believe the desire to build was placed inside of me by accident.

I believe God gave me the vision.

And now I have to do my part.

Build the system.

Make the money.

Build the legacy.

Live the life.

One brick at a time.

One prayer at a time.

One business decision at a time.

One obedient step at a time.

I don't have to have everything figured out today.

I just have to keep building.

Because...I WAS BUILT TO BUILD. 🦋
